John M. Dimitrion, founder and chief executive of Mortgage Alliance LLC, and his wife, Julie A.B. Dimitrion, the firm's chief financial officer, are accused of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud, money laundering and making false statements on loan applications to obtain $1.3 million in new loans between 2005 and 2007.

The Dimitrions were indicted along with Rick Kealoha Pa Jr. and Benjamin Yoshito Thompson. Thompson pleaded not guilty Wednesday and posted $25,000 bail. Pa was found by FBI agents in Iowa and is scheduled to turn himself in on Tuesday.

Of the fraudulently obtained loan money, $139,114 was used at the discretion of John and Julie Dimitrion and an undisclosed amount went to Mortgage Alliance, Pa and Thompson, court documents show.

The Dimitrions pleaded not guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kevin S.C. Chang, who set their bail at $50,000 each. They are scheduled to go to trial April 14 and have been ordered to live with John Dimitrion's father, Honolulu physician Michael Dimitrion.

Laid off from work...any way for assistance or defferment on mortgage payments in Iowa and how to find them?

Currently laid off for 2 1/2 months and mortgage is not late yet but is there any types of grants or assistance or whatever to help before it becomes a HUGE problem for me? Countrywide is the lender and I live in Iowa....THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Always check with the loan company to see what they are willing to do for you. The mortgage company does not want you to have to foreclose so they will do tons to keep you from going there.

Check out the local banks and credit unions in the city (or near the city) the property is located in.
Second, try the bank you currently have a banking relationship with.

Has anyone had a worse experience with Elite Mortgage in Ankeny, Iowa?

They claim they can close on a certain date/time. FAIL to do so.
Then they set ANOTHER date/time and Fail AGAIN....
All of the buyers paperwork is done, as is the sellers.
They offered no explanation why? We still are not closed. They are not returning calls at this point. Have you had a worse experice? Have you had a better experience? Would you use this company?

They are not listed with the better business burea.

I would report them to the attorney general and get these people out of business so they dont waste anyone elses time.
