A Murderer's Row of eight bank CEOs appeared before the House Financial Services Committee Wednesday with one thing in common:

The bankers said the nation's economic meltdown really isn't their fault. Why, they are mostly victims of a lot of bad decisions made by, well, other people.

And the banks are lending, really they are, with that $165 billion in bailout funds conveniently provided by U.S. taxpayers.

"We are still lending, and we are lending far more because of the TARP program," Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis told Congress.

Oh, and that pesky $18 billion in banking bonuses that congressional representatives kept asking about on Wednesday?

"We love what we do; if you gave us no bonus we would still be here," said John J. Mack of Morgan Stanley.

Mack and Lewis appeared with the chief executives of other bailed-out financial institutions, including Vikram Pandit of Citigroup, and

I need to know what the check verification number is for the HR Block Bank refund checks sent from their bank out of Kansas City Missouri, can't get no answer from the Bank I get put on hold for like ever..If you have received a refund check from this bank can you please give me the check verification number listed on the check from them, The merchants will not let me cash this check without it, please and TY..

I'm confused by your question

I dont know what you are trying to do? If you have the check then why not deposit it in your bank?

And should H&R Block have that number for you?

The bill is in good conditon. Also have a Silver Certificate $1 in Very good condition.

These notes average $25.00 in good condition.
Silver certificates average $2.00 in very good condition.

Please don't listen to some who say it is just a few cents over a dollar. These bills are dated 1914 are actually from 1918 here they are on eBay none are under $20.00.
