Four employees at a Honolulu mortgage company were indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly coordinating a home loan scheme that cost banks and troubled homeowners hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The Honolulu Advertiser reported Friday that John M. Dimitrion, founder and CEO of Mortgage Alliance and his wife, Julie A.B. Dimitrion, chief financial officer, were indicted with Rick Kealoha Pa Jr. and Benjamin Yoshito Thompson for allegedly defrauding homeowners and banks by promising to save them from foreclosure.
The four are accused of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud, money laundering and making false statements on loan applications to obtain $1.3 million in new loans between 2005 and 2007, the Advertiser reported.
Homeowners facing foreclosure were enlisted in the company’s foreclosure bailout program, according to the federal indictment, and would pay $20,000 to have their mortgages handled by Dimitrion.
John Dimitirion and his associates applied for larger loans than necessary and allegedly stole proceeds by putting the money into fake escrow accounts.
Are Student loans you can recieve in Hawaii different from the ones you can get in Texas?

Basically, if you are moving to Hawaii for college, but you will still be considered a Texas resident, do your loans still count? Are there different procedures to get loans in Hawaii?
Hello Lina M,
Changing the state you reside in will have no effect on your federal student loans..
You can go to any college within the US and use your student loans to pay for them..

Can I take out a student loan to fund a trip to hawaii?
Jul 25, 2007 by LifeWitYou | Posted in Financial Aid
I need to go to hawaii for a wedding. Can I take out a student loan and use the money to fund the trip?
Well, if you have a refund check coming, you can spend it how you like, but it's designed to pay miscellaneous expenses like rent, utilities, etc. while you're in school. You can't take out a loan specifically for at trip to Hawaii unless you were in a program like National Student Exchange (assuming you're from the US) or studying abroad (if you're not from the US).

Can I get the new title for my car in Hawaii w/ the old title I just paid off in CA?
May 24, 2006 by k256 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I have just paid off all the car loan.
I checked the loan balance at the loan company and they confermed the loan balance is $0. Now, they are signing and sending the tile to me by mail. This is good.
By the way, I am moving to Hawaii w/ this car soon. However, I am not sure if I could receive the new title from CA-DMV before moving date.
I was wondering if it's possible for me to bring the old title ,which is coming from the loan company, to Hawaii DMV directory after moving and get the new title from Hawaii DMV.
The title arrived from the loan company to me yesterday. I see the loan company's signature at the bottom-right area of the certificate of title. This field says "Signature releasea interest in vehicle." Will Hawaii DMV accept it as the evidence of 100% of my ownership of this vehicle?
Yes--the procedure is more or less the same. Bring
your CA title, proof of insurance, and possibly your
CA plates to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles or whatever it
may be called there, and your drivers' license and you
should be good to go.
Good luck in Hawaii. Was there several times w/ US Navy
and the weather was great.
