Bernanke Begins ‘Thorough Review’ of Fed Disclosure
10.02.09
By Craig Torres
Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S.
Bernanke initiated a review of the information it provides the
public after lawmakers criticized the central bank’s disclosure
policies during the unprecedented expansion of its holdings.
“We at the Fed have begun a thorough review of our
disclosure policies and the effectiveness of our communication,”
Bernanke said today in remarks prepared for testimony before the House Financial Services Committee . Board Vice Chairman Donald
Kohn will lead a panel for the review.
Bernanke has invoked emergency authority and more than
doubled the size of the Fed’s balance sheet to $1.8 trillion to
combat the worst credit crisis in seven decades. His moves have
prompted concern that the central bank is encouraging excessive
risk-taking, distorting pricing in financial markets and
jeopardizing the Fed’s independence. The Fed hasn’t disclosed
many of the assets and participants in its programs.

My insurance wont cover eye care and i need a personal loan in kansas of 5000 for laski eye surg.where do you go for a personal loan in kansas with a bankrupsy on your credit report
Both of the answers that mention CareCredit and Prosper are good answers.
If you can get on with CareCredit, they have special programs where if you use X amount of money for the medical treatment, you will be able to pay it back at 0% for a certain period (up to 12 months). Keep in mind if you don't pay it back within that amount of time you will be charged the interest.
They do have longer payback periods, but with a 9.9% rate

Student Loans in Kansas?
Apr 08, 2007 by Rosebud | Posted in Financial Aid
My daughter received a $1500 student loan five years ago. She attended two classes and left school (without telling me). She did not fill out withdrawal papers (her fault). A collection agency has been calling her and threatening to garnish her wages. They want $100/month and since she doesn't have a checking account they told her to take it out of her bofriend's account or my account. Nope. I know student loans never go away, however, what are her rights as far as only sending them what she can afford. They told her she HAS to send $100 and they will not accept a money order or cashiers check. They want to take it out of somone's account or credit card. Any advice?
There are several kinds of student loans available the world over. Those that seem most common in the US as apposed to those in Europe are the federal and private student loans. The U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid programs manage the federally funded loans. The federal educational loan is probably one of the less difficult to obtain. Other common student loan programs can be obtained through one or two major US banks. While private student loans are available and are typically charged with a higher interest rate as they are generally unsecured.
The interest on federal loans are tax-deductible and in some cases it isn't necessary to repay the student loan. There are many kinds of student debt consolidation plans offered. However, the majority of them offer the same services. These benefits include reducing the size of monthly payment, lowering the monthly payment by a certain percentage and so on.
