Feb. 14--Wachovia Bank on Friday said it will close its branch in Shoemakersville on April 22.

James Baum, Wachovia's communications manager for Pennsylvania and Delaware, said customer accounts at that branch will be transferred to the bank's Hamburg offi ce.

Baum said no employees will lose their jobs as a result of the closing and that no other closings are planned in Berks County.

He also said the closing of the offi ce at 455 Main St. has nothing to do with Wachovia's purchase by Wells Fargo and Co.

"Like any company, we're continually evaluating our banking network," Baum said. "As part of that effort, we have decided to combine the Shoemakersville office into the Hamburg offi ce."

I need to setup an offshore business bank account for my Delaware-based company. Any thoughts as to the best company/bank to go through. Ideally, I'd prefer an account in the states or in Delaware, and for it to be cheap or free.

Firstly, you cant have an offshore account in Delaware if you are actually in Delaware (as far as I can tell, the bonus if an offshore account is that it is hidden a bit from the authorities and you pay less tax on it, and also if you travel to a country often an account in that country makes currency exchange cheaper)

If you have a company allready, have a chat to your accountant as which way is the best thing to do and best bank. Its in their interest to help you since if you go bust then they loose business - so talk to them.

Can bank statements be used to establish residency in Delaware for a driver's license?

My friend is trying to establish residency there to obtain a driver's license, but she will be living with her brother and will not have any utility bills, only bank statements. Do you know if the DMV will accept bank statements? Thanks.

http://www.dmv.de.gov/forms/veh_serv_forms/pdfs/ve_frm_newresid.pdf shows the 'how to' part.

As far as residency, http://www.dmv.de.gov/services/driver_services/drivers_license/dr_lic_gen_req.shtml says you must have two of the listed things to establish residency. Bank records can be one. For the other: W2 form from the job, auto insurance policy, voter registration card...see the link for the full list.
